Portefeuille Safety
Commissie Economie, Financiën & BestuurThe Safety portfolio covers almost all subjects related to the rules in the General Local Bye-Laws (APV). These include rules relating to (camera) surveillance, enforcement of established standards, and ensuring the safety of all Delphians.
In general, STIP is not an advocate of making up more and more rules. This portfolio therefore looks very critically at the introduction of new rules and at the current form of the APV. Rules must always serve a purpose, and if that purpose can be achieved in another way or if they overshoot the mark, then as far as STIP is concerned they are superfluous. As a municipality, we must also be very cautious with matters such as camera surveillance in order to protect the privacy of our residents.
