Portefeuille Climate & Energy
Commissie Ruimte & VerkeerThe Climate & Energy portfolio deals with everything the municipality of Delft can do to prevent climate change (climate mitigation) and to prepare for climate change (climate adaptation).
A sustainable city that is prepared for the future is very important to STIP. Now we must take the steps to make Delft energy-neutral in time. That is why STIP wants energy-neutral construction, gas-free neighbourhoods and further upscaling of innovations in The Green Village. We also find it important to make the city resistant to the droughts and more extreme rainfall that we can expect. This includes more green public spaces, green roofs and innovative tiles and techniques that permeate and retain water.
Major topics under this portfolio are: the heat plan, energy transition and waste policy. Questions that are central in this respect: How do we get the various districts of Delft off the gas? How can we get the whole of Delft on to sustainable energy? How can we process waste in Delft in a sustainable and efficient way?
